A digital Utopia

Imagine is a fully featured social network – concept, design and the app were developed by me.

After the digitization of social contacts has been taken over by companies ever since the social media age, we want to try it again this time as a community. The users decide which features will be integrated, which behavior will be tolerated and what will happen with the revenue. So the users get the power back.

The network has been available in the AppStore since 2019 and has been continuously developed. In addition to the usual functions such as posting different types of media, commenting and interacting with the posts, there is a lot to discover in the app.

The network is community-based: There are many ways to engage with or present a topic. 
The Imagine section shows you what’s new in the network and what polls are currently running. 

The app is written in Swift, using UIKit and an MVC architecture. Most of the views were created with storyboard and XIB files, but are currently being converted to programmatic UI creation for better collaboration.
Several Cells of Collection- and TableViews form the main part of the extensive project. 

The database, authentication, storage and cloud functions (backend) are hosted by Firebase.

Fitting to the idea of the network, the app and the associated programs are open source and can be found on GitHub.
